About
Hasan Khalil is an astronomer based out of Kenosha, Wisconsin. Besides his personal astronomical work, Hasan is an active board member at the Racine Astronomical Society. Gaining immense interest in astronomy as a child, Hasan has spent most of his life looking at the stars. His first experience involved the use of a 15 dollar Vivitar Refractor at the age of 7 which significantly underperformed, in turn sparking a deeper interest in exploring the unknown. A few years later Hasan would acquire a C4 Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope which he used to learn the basics of astronomy. Today Hasan collects data from his home observatory using a c9.25, 60mm astrograph and a CGE Mount. Hasan also restored and is a proud owner of a one of a kind preproduction tricolor prototype C14 orange tube telescope which he uses for visual work. Hasan has a particular interest in capturing small challenging objects such a Galaxies and Planetary Nebulae which require tight guiding tolerances.
